Mrs. Kathy Straughn will be coming to GSLP on Monday and Tuesday to provide hearing and vision screening to children whose parents request this service. Mrs. Straughn has been performing these tests for a number of years and her experience—and patience—enables her to complete a more thorough test than is often performed at the pediatrician’s office. In previous years at GSLP, she has discovered several children with either hearing or vision problems that had not been detected through routine office visits to the pediatrician. The parents took their children to specialists who were able to correct the problems. Early intervention is essential in many hearing and vision problems and GSLP highly recommends that parents take advantage of this opportunity. The cost for the screening is $25.
Please read this informational letter from Ms. Straughn for more information. If you would like to have your child evaluated, please download and fill out this small form requesting information about your child which will help Ms. Straughn in her evaluation. Please bring the completed form and payment of $25 (check or cash) when your child comes to school on Monday or Tuesday of next week.
